D&D Electric was founded by experienced electricians who built their careers working in demanding environments such as mining operations, industrial facilities, and large-scale electrical infrastructure projects.
That hands-on experience continues to shape our approach today. Our crews understand the realities of field construction — how to solve problems safely, coordinate across trades, and deliver systems that are reliable long after construction is complete.
Today, D&D Electric employs more than 100 professionals, with the majority of our workforce dedicated to field operations. This depth allows us to support multiple project sites while maintaining consistent supervision, installation standards, and schedule discipline.
Self-Performing
Electrical Contractor
Unlike many contractors that rely heavily on subcontracted labor, D&D Electric self- performs the majority of our electrical construction work through our own licensed electricians and field crews.

To support long-term workforce development, D&D Electric also maintains a Department of Labor–registered apprenticeship program, helping train the next generation of electricians and skilled trades professionals throughout Southern Illinois and the broader Midwest.
Solar
Solar & Distributed Energy Construction
In addition to our commercial and industrial electrical work, D&D Electric has developed significant expertise in solar and distributed generation construction.
Our crews have participated in the installation of more than 60 megawatts of solar capacity across Illinois, including community solar developments, commercial rooftop systems, and distributed generation portfolios.
D&D Electric is an Approved Vendor under the Illinois Shines program and a
certified Equity Eligible Contractor (EEC), allowing developers and project owners to meet Illinois renewable energy program requirements while partnering with an experienced electrical construction team.
Our solar capabilities extend across mechanical installation, electrical construction, medium-voltage systems, and project commissioning support.
